Life in Iowa

Here are some things I have learnt living in rural Iowa over the past few weeks.....

1. You're no celebrity, but the Mayor knows your name.
2. Your idea of a traffic jam is seven cars waiting to pass a tractor.
3 You have had to switch from "Heat" to "A/C" on the same day on multiple occasions.
4. When people talk about "buying and selling stock", they are actually referring to livestock like cattle, goats, and hogs.
5. When asked how your trip was to any place (incl. a mall in the neighboring city), you say, "It was exotic!"
6. The local Auto Show has the entire town drooling at the latest models of harvesters, tractors, and combines.
7. Your town and the neighboring town share a zip code.
8. However, your corn fields outside town covers several counties and zip codes.
9. The local radio station broadcasts greetings on everyone's wedding anniv, coz there are only 238 couples in all.
10. The local "airport" has no security check, coz it's only for airplanes that spray pesticide on corn fields.

Get the picture!
